Description

The mammoth 6.59-inch FHD LCD display is why this phone has such an intimidating size. It’s a lot of real estate for the price, particularly when you consider it comes without a notch or punch-hole. Using LCD instead of OLED helps keep the price down, but does mean you’ll lose out on overall image quality. This is the follow up to the rather good Honor 9X. As you might expect, the word Pro means it comes with more processing grunt, with the Kirin 710 processor subbed out for a 2.27GHz octa-core Kirin 810. The 6GB RAM remains the same but there’s also a generous 256GB of internal storage, which itself can be expanded via microSD cards. Sadly though, performance is less stellar to my eyes. Not only does it seem to apply some pretty aggressive beautification settings, even when the settings are pushed to zero, skin tones take on a very light appearance. I’m pale, but I’m not this pale (middle is default, left is with beautification turned off, and right is with it set to max): The Honor 9X Pro, just like the 9X, has a 16MP f/2.2 camera on its pop-up module. The focus is fixed, as usual. Though this HONOR 9X Pro is a Chinese version model, the setting up process is generally the same. But I need the GMS! I searched on the Internet and finally I found the way! It's quite easy if you follow up my steps!

Portrait mode is available. You can turn the blur on and off; there's also beautification (a 0-10 setting). The subject separation is mostly hit and miss though, and we can't recommend using this mode.B1 (2100) , B3 (1800) , B5 (850) , B8 (900) , B38 (TDD 2600) , B39 (TDD 1900) , B40 (TDD 2300) , B41 (TDD 2500) The global version of the Honor 9X Pro isn't that different from the Google-friendly Honor 9X, but it has one tempting advantage - the more powerful Kirin 810 chip.

Connectivity options on the Honor 9X Pro include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth v4.20, USB Type-C, Headphones, 3G, and 4G (with support for Band 40 used by some LTE networks in India). Sensors on the phone include accelerometer, ambient light sensor, compass/ magnetometer, gyroscope, proximity sensor, and fingerprint sensor.

HONOR 9X Pro review: The big picture

Furthermore, the aspect ratio of the Honor 9X Pro is 19.5:9 so that you can enjoy vivid and crystal clear visuals while watching videos, playing games, or streaming movies online.. Rear camera: Primary - 48MP, 27mm, f/1.8; PDAF; Ultrawide - 8MP, 13mm, f/2.4; Depth sensor - 2MP. Video recording up to 1080p@30fps. Chipset: Kirin 810: octa-core CPU (2x2.27 GHz Cortex-A76 & 6x1.88 GHz Cortex-A55); Mali-G52 MP6 GPU. The 60fps footage from the main camera is richer in detail and that's probably because there is no EIS involved like on the 30fps clips.

If you can stretch to a Pixel 3a or Pixel 3a XL, you’re probably better off doing so. Aside from offering better cameras than the Honor 9X, these can use Android 10, are available in the US and aren’t at risk from suddenly losing out on Google’s support due to international politics. But if you want a larger display for less money, the Honor 9X is worth a look.

Could it be Honor’s swan song?

An ideal Honor 9X user would be someone who wants the most hardware they can get for the smallest price. It’s an efficient device with enough premium detailing to make it feel as special as devices two or three times its price. Various connectivity options on the Honor 9X Pro include WiFi - Yes Wi-Fi 802.11, ac/b/g/n/n 5GHz, Mobile Hotspot, Bluetooth - Yes v5.0, and 4G (supports Indian bands), 3G, 2G. Sensors on the Honor 9X Pro include Light sensor, Proximity sensor, Accelerometer, Compass, Gyroscope. There are obvious weaknesses with the Honor 9X, including a camera that falls flat in low light and just so-so performance.. However, the large notchless display, good battery life and solid camera performance (in normal lighting conditions) make this one of the better Android values we’ve tested.
