In addition to this, there is a separate zipped pocket that can hold an extra 1kg, handy for valuables (or snacks). The City Tour 2 is front-facing only, so my 7-month-old had the chance to look out on the world earlier than my older son did with our travel system. Baby rides comfortably with multiple recline positions, adjustable calf support, a UV 50+ canopy, and a comfortable padded seat with added depth.

It is, travelling on public transport is one of the key areas the City Tour is designed for, and it really fulfils its promise on this front. You then grab the carry handle to pull the whole thing together and then attach the clasp to keep it shut. Not only that; this buggy is lightweight, has ample storage space and can be easily steered with one hand for that extra bit of convenience. As I scrambled through the piles of baby clothes and gadgets that I'd scooped up ready for them, it occurred to me that our 'list' was probably quite frightening. I was a little hesitant because the folded size is still a bit bigger (by an inch or two) than most airlines’ handcarry size.

It has a solid grip of the road, yet is easy to steer with one hand, while holding phone, door, luggage or elder sibling in the other. But there is no latch to keep the handle down once its folded AND when I purchased it last spring it did not come with a carry case. Following my initial reservations about the flimsy-looking 5” wheels, they coped remarkably well in real life. Even though the City Tour only faces the world, it’s easy to check on little one, thanks to a generous mesh window.

The other change is that the carry bag provided is not a backpack this time, but a light bag that you would carry over your shoulder or in your hand. As he grows, his legs will become more supported by the foot- and lower leg rest, but for now it looks a tad uncomfortable, and he was flapping his legs about quite a bit. I appreciated the adjustable calf support, not always a feature of lightweight pushchairs, which really helped make both children look and feel more comfortable.

I love the little zip pocket too, a handy place for nappies and wipes if Dad is taking the boys out and doesn’t want to take the entire baby bag with him. Airports will be a pleasure, even those that ask you to put buggies through the x-ray machine, which happened to me in France. Even with my older son in the pushchair, it felt light to push – although naturally the extra weight meant a bit more of a workout for me when it came to larger kerbs. The ultra-compact one hand fold push chair and included carry bag make the city tour™ 2 the ultimate travel companion.
