Even for just moving around files on my computer I find it to be a more enjoyable experience than using a mouse. But with only 8 mm thickness, you can take it anywhere without the burden of lugging around a heavy tablet!

You also get a protective film cover for the tablet which changes how the using the stylus on its surfaces feels. In conclusion, the XP-Pen Deco 01 is a satisfactory tablet that is worth taking at least one look at if you’re on a budget.

Teachers and speakers can create and explain interactive content visually by writing, editing, and annotating directly in files and sharing their screen in real time while streaming, broadcasting, or web conferencing. However, this amount of wobble at max tilt is small enough that it probably won’t be noticeable in most cases. It’s not to say that these goals can’t be achieved using a normal mouse, but I have found that it’s easier to dial them in exactly how you want it with the tablet. Something we really appreciate about the device is how easy it is to use – simply plugging the USB cable into our PC meant that tapping on the Deco let us control the computer. In this case, I would recommend the Huion H950P over the XP-Pen Deco 01 V2 just because I know it performs decently. XP-Pen doesn’t often use this design feature, but other brands do, as it’s super useful for making sure the stylus is always on (or in) hand.

The source code contains the code from DIGImend, the changes I made in the upstream kernel plus the changes required to add support for your tablet. This is one of the only issues I currently have with XP-Pen’s products, so hopefully they will be able to fix it soon. I found that even if you are trying to use it on a program that has a portrait mode it will weirdly map the tablet to only half of the device or just refuse to work on it. There’s a lot of posts indicating problems with xp-pen’s compatibility with Krita (which is weird since it’s the biggest open source software and xp-pen has some of the cheapest stuff in the market, making it ideal for beginners and hobbyists).

Ideally, your tablet will have an extremely low IAF where the pen will output a line with the least amount of force possible.Although primarily targeted at artists, graphics tablets can be used as a mouse replacement allowing the user to interact with content on their computer in a different way. An example of the ideal test page is the Huion New 1060 Plus (2048) IAF test page which I included above for comparison. The pen pressure worked well and come out as I expected it to, and only sometimes would I have to undo a line or two due to the pen tapering issue.
