About this deal

When you are happy the plug is secure, either with or without grab adhesive (your decision), tap home the tube and attach your fitting with the screw. You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice. Corefix products that are not only highly competitive but use quality materials that have been rigorously tested in 'live' construction situations before market release.

It’s important to understand this so that you can use the correct fixing for the safe fixing of loads.Available in three ranges Corefix original, for all block and brickwork, Corefix Air, for lightweight thermalite blocks and Plus30, with a 20mm longer screw for deeper brackets and fixtures (on the outside of the plasterboard). The rawl plug got its name from John Joseph Rawlings who invented this simple yet universally used fixing way back in 1911. Steel core for heavy duty use: Designed for heavy-duty use, these plasterboard over blockwork wall fixings include a steel core for reinforcement to provide a solid, reliable hold. Tested to 250kg (without failure) on four fixings with a safe working load of 73kg, it is ideal for heavy loads such as TVs and wall cabinets.

If your plasterboard wall is of the dot and dab wall type, then definitely yes you can fix your boiler and radiators to that plasterboard wall if you use the right type of plasterboard fixings and for us that means Corefix. For heavier stuff I use Corefix, these go through the plasterboard and right into the solid wall with an internal strengthening collar to bridge the gap.The recommended safe load of 73kg (4 x fixings) includes a conservative Factor of Safety (see datasheet for further details). Corefix has been independently tested to a load of 100kg and has been in-house tested and proven to safely support over 200kg! The coated thick steel core tube bridges the gap between plasterboard and solid masonry wall meaning four fixtures can safely hold up to 100kg, ensuring any heavy item is securely held in place. However make sure that you have sufficient space between the plasterboard and the wall behind it to allow the fixing to be inserted fully before opening out.
