About this deal

The full RGB backlight is great for dark room gaming or to highlight important keys, and the function keys can all be reprogrammed with macros, though MMO players may find the lack of dedicated macro keys a bit disappointing. The Logitech G512 Special Edition and the Logitech G513 are two very similar keyboards that perform almost the same, but the G513 is more comfortable as it has a detachable wrist rest. Logitech follows the standard keyboard design for the G512 Carbon; there are no extras for media control or a volume dial. Its solid build quality, trio of mechanical switch options, and customizable RGB lighting give you a champagne keyboard on a beer budget.

Downloading the LG 's software was a breeze - installing it was impossible , l finally gave up and resorted on using the FN key with F7 .The frame is made of hard plastic with an aluminum plate on top, and the whole keyboard feels very solid, with no signs of flex at all. The main downside is that G HUB is only available on Windows and macOS, so Linux users won't be able to customize the keyboard.

It has a USB passthrough so you can plug in other peripherals or charge your devices, and you can set a macro or reprogram any of the function keys. G512 is crafted from incredibly strong and durable 5052 aluminum-magnesium alloy, creating a minimalist design, beautiful aesthetic, and ultra-durable build designed to last. I enjoyed the tactile feedback during gaming, with the keys feeling well-spaced, and the rubber feet and heavy weight of the keyboard kept it from sliding around on my desk too.

The keycaps are doubleshot ABS, which is great for the key legends' longevity, but the ABS plastic quality feels a bit cheap and may develop a shine over time that can make the keyboard look greasy. The additional, dedicated USB cable connects the USB passthrough port to its own input for full power throughput and data speed. You can personalise lighting for each individual key, customise lighting effects and enjoy in-game integration from a spectrum of ~16. When tapping the keys there's an echo , coming from the inside , like , it doesn't bother me but it may others.

Performance-tuned anti-ghosting gives you reliable control when multiple gaming commands are given simultaneously. My only complaint with that board, was a sticking left shift key(even after cleaning), other then that it was a perfectly fine, normal keyboard. The perfect blend of performance, advanced technologies and features, and unparalleled build quality, G512 is an RGB mechanical gaming keyboard with a choice of three distinct mechanical switches: Romer-G Tactile, Romer-G Linear and GX Blue. However, the volume of reports online from other users may indicate this issue is more commonly experienced with this keyboard for unknown reasons. G512 is crafted from incredibly strong and durable 5052 aluminum-magnesium alloy which allows for both a minimal design and a beautiful aesthetic. My performance on CS:GO and Overwatch did not suffer as a result of the GX Blue switches -- I felt as fast as I usually do on both games (which is mildly proficient with CS:GO and fairly slow on fast-moving Overwatch battles). It provides a great typing experience that feels light and responsive, and the programmable keys are a welcome addition over the average office keyboard, even though they're limited to function keys only. It’s just looks better when the secondary functions are illuminated, and it can also makes it a lot easier to use them when gaming in the dark.
