About this deal

The book is told entirely from her perspective, which I thought worked quite well for the storyline, and she grows quite a bit by the novel's end. Taking us on a journey across the pond, Bromley has crafted a sharp, witty cast of characters you can't help but fall for. We've made the conscious decision for aesthetic and environmental reasons to print on matte instead of shiny card. Ciao for Now has the strongest cast of secondary characters ever–possibly the strongest cast I’ve ever read about. Shocked to see Matt again, Violet quickly discovers Matt (or as his mother reveals — Matteo) is the professor’s son and will also be staying at the apartment while she is there.

This tale of love, friendship, and the pursuit of dreams mixes sizzling chemistry with heaps of A+ banter into a read that is sure to charm readers! I thought Violet and Matt’s story was so easy and enjoyable to read, but I think what set this book apart for me was Violets journey of self discovery. She still misses her ex-boyfriend, the same man she changed cities for, but she's concentrating on her A-game to create killing designs to find her dream job in the fashion industry. Violet, Marco, and Holly take the city by storm for an assignment and visit so many touristy spots in Rome that I’ve been to, so I could picture everything in my mind so perfectly.

I was happy that Violet spent a year getting her life together and starting her career, but her reunion with Matt felt incredibly underwhelming to me. By rejecting non-essential cookies, Reddit may still use certain cookies to ensure the proper functionality of our platform.

Violet does everything she can to avoid crossing paths with him, but eventually, they bump into each other. Little does Violet know, that stranger she met in the cafe is her professor’s grumpy son, Matteo, who is now her temporary roommate! So when she lands a summer internship at an up-and-coming fashion brand in Rome - with a chance to win a job at a NY fashion label - she heads to Italy, ready to give it her all! She is beyond mortified and apologizes profusely to the cold but gorgeous stranger—then she learns that he’s her new boss’s son and they’ll be living in the same villa for the rest of the trip. Kate Bromley does an amazing job showing us what Violet goes through to find her individuality, and the strength to stand up for what she wants.

Because it turns out that the man from the café is Matteo, her professor’s eternally grumpy son, who thinks she’s a clumsy American…and maybe a stalker.
