Skin tones look natural yet overall, the darkness continues over into the colours – there’s not a lot of bright splashes across the film's run time (even the blood is dark, rich, almost oil like in its colour) so it's not a film to use to show off the razzle dazzle of every colour under the rainbow. But if you embrace the lunacy in a " so bad it is actually good frame of mind" it IMO adds the the enjoyment with its ridiculousness of the character stereo types, genre tropes and violent chaos.

In this chapter, Laurie Strode (Curtis), now a grandmother, works with her family to plot against murderer Michael Myers (Castle) who still roams the streets of Haddonfield. It’s not a great thing when your two best performances are from a hospital bed-ridden Jamie Lee Curtis and Will Patton trying to come to terms with their survivor’s guilt.

These sections work as not just fan service but help flesh out the notion of Myers’ story impacting more than just the Strode family - some may find it indulgent, others like me won’t. The film has some great over the top exaggerated fun characters, creative cinematography, tight pacing , visceral kills , bat-s h i t crazy script a unique take to John Carpenter's vision. For a slasher that likes to go bump in the night, Michael Myers is treated to a pretty damn creepy and effective Atmos audio track.Before the release of the film, McBride confirmed that he and Green were originally intending to pitch two films that would be shot back-to-back and then decided against it, waiting to see the reaction to the first film.
