The newspaper accepts that the list is an artificial exercise, but seeks to celebrate people representing much-needed values, in the hope that they will be seen as role models. Also, having a demi character, even if it's not spelled out that way in the book, makes me very happy. Was it to show Gray as a high class lawyer above an accent while Kai is a low class, blue collar yokel proclaiming his Boston roots every time he opens his gob no matter where he's gone in the world? I also enjoyed that Grey seemed to place the sexual attraction second and just accepted that being with Kai made him happy.It also included ten less well-known people who had featured in Gordon Brown's 2007 book, co-authored with Community Links, with a somewhat similar aim, Britain's Everyday Heroes. When you spend time complaining about “all the things” your mind is focused on the negative and that is clouding all the positives you have in your life. Gray is the responsible, somewhat repressed, lawyer who’s always done what’s expected of him, even though he’s not very happy neither with his career nor his girlfriend.

You don’t have to train for a triathlon or scale a cliff — unless that’s what makes you happy, of course. It was easy to spend my time thinking about the negative mess I discovered and wonder how it got that way. I liked the alternative POV and found it refreshing to get each guy’s perspective on love, life, and friendship. I love our main characters, Kai and Grey, they had such great chemistry the whole time and their relationship never felt forced.I was completely enamored with Kai and Gray and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this title to any reader who likes friends to lovers romance or appreciates palpable chemistry.
