During sessions with Mario Party 9 I was still able to suppress my critical instincts and lose myself in its charms -- but booze was perhaps more essential than ever. Another new feature is that each board culminates in a boss battle that is played with all players in the vehicle.mario Party 9 is very different from the way the previous 8 games are play, so if you want to relive the glory days, 8 would be your choice.

In this mode, players compete against each other in six or twelve boss minigames to see who can receive the most points at the end of the game. Some minigames, such as Logger Heads, 10 to Win, Snow Go and Pizza Me, Mario, have unique versions in this mode. Mario Party 9 features your favourite characters from the Mushroom Kingdom, as well as introducing a few characters completely new to the Mario Party series.

Shy Guy, previously playable in Mario Party 4's Beach Volley Folly minigame, is also considered a new playable character.

There are things about Mario Party 9 that make it a better experience than previous entries, but overall it's still a disheartening experience. The number of spaces the player moves is determined by a roll of the dice block found within the game. But throughout its many generations, Mario Party has carried a fatal flaw, buried deep in its DNA: In spite of your proficiency at mini-games, or penchant for board game strategy, Mario Party is dictated by the dice roll. Minigames are played using the Wii Remote and Nunchuk controllers, and are designed to be accessible to players of all ages and skill levels.
