About this deal

Our relationship developed faster than usual due to unforeseen circumstances that required me to find an emergency place to live, but it ended up strengthening our relationship so much we just made it a permanent affair.

Fans of Jo Thomas, Catherine Walsh and Philippa Ashley will love this heartwarming read from Carla Burgess. He’d felt chilled by the realisation that he’d mistaken rubbish for a human being, and it had inspired him to make hunched, human-shaped sculptures covered in bin bags and place them on the streets to make people consider how they see homeless people. After all, with a title like 'Marry Me Tomorrow', how can anyone let that go by them without reading it? I liked creepy Brian and was sort of hoping Emily's Mom would end up with him and I liked Emily's Mom but other than Emily and Sam the remaining cast of characters left a lot to be desired.I’ll admit, I surrendered to this book and became its page mistress after reading the first couple of pages! There were SO many parts that were just repetitive and I would have preferred if the author set out scenes in which maybe the insecurities became obvious. It's just a few days until Christmas and to finally put a stop to her nagging mother's matchmaking plans, Emily has convinced her that she's already married! I’d been writing a short story about a homeless boy at the time, and the idea for Emily asking homeless Sam to pose as her husband while her mother visits stemmed from there.

Carla Burgess works her wonders and has the reader become immersed in a world that is so realistic you think you are watching a reality tv show. Emily's mum likes to think she is Cilla Black (may she rest in peace) and set her daughter up on dates; never mind the fact that she might actually be happy single!Sam and Emily both go from being lonely people who really have nothing but emotional scars to giving each other everything that they could ever want! The line "If I marry you tomorrow will you take me straight to bed" suggests a sense of urgency and desire for an intense connection. After a lot of persuading Sam agrees after all he will have a roof over his head and food in his belly. And before anyone says anything about it being a bad idea to propose on Christmas - it's a holiday we both love and he's mentioned in passing how cute he thinks a Christmas proposal would be. I don't really have any family or friends to share this with, but I'm so happy and excited that I just need to tell someone - even strangers on the internet.
