How many chapters should a non-fiction book have? Non-fiction books can have varying numbers of chapters, depending on how the information is organized. Some may have several chapters, while others might be structured differently.

Is 70,000 words enough for a novel? 70,000 words could be sufficient for a novel, particularly in certain genres like Young Adult fiction.Rita’s sister Barbara works for the Berlin CID and is desperate to find her missing sister. Barbara arrives in Australia and takes an unofficial active role in investigating her sisters disappearance. Grogan's heartburn has been killing him. The whole last week he’s been chewing pink Pepto-Bismol squares like an addict but his chest is still burning.” Talking of Scandi Noir, I think maybe us Aussies also owe our Nordic friends a vote of thanks. For Scandi noir confirmed for all time, if that was necessary, that American readers were happy, indeed eager, to read crime books set outside the States.

DS Walker is on personal leave and revisiting his birthplace. While there he is tasked with stepping in to assist the local constabulary to find tow young European travelers who failed to turn up to their next working destination. Some might consider Wolf’s use of the unwelcoming local copper with a chip on his shoulder something of a cliché, since it seems it has become an overused staple of the genre. Is 20,000 words too short for a book? 20,000 words might be considered short for a full-length book, but it could still be suitable for novellas, short stories, or certain non-fiction works. While the novel is not without minor flaws — notably, an age discrepancy in Rita and Barbara's parents and the potential confusion caused by Australian lingo — these do little to diminish the overall excellence of the work. This is told in the third person, generally from the points of view of Rita, their “rescuer”, and DS Lucas Walker, a federal police officer who is on leave, visiting his dying grandmother in their hometown where she raised him. The other main character is Rita’s sister Barbara, a police officer in Berlin who flies down to help. Each chapter is titled with the day of the week and how many days the pair have been missing. Barbara is arriving.

Sadly, this book is many years out of print BUT you can find it secondhand online or in libraries across Australia. Paradise is recommended to those that enjoy police procedurals with humanly developed characters and the novels of writers like Garry Disher. Paradise was provided by Embala Books through Netgalley upon the promise of a fair review and is set to be published on May 17, 2023. Their search becomes ever more urgent as temperatures soar. Even if Walker does find the young couple, will it be too late?Australia is a land of contradictions, where rain forests are not that distant from the desert. At its heart, it is a vast island. The original human inhabitants lived in difficult partnership with the rugged land, their method of subsistence dependant on their location. How many chapters does the average book have?
