About this deal

Bath is tiled so queue a bit of to-ing and fro-ing we eventually get access and my fitter changes the waste. Leak remains. Too little catalyst causes under curing to the applied laminate and may leave it exposed to inclement elements before cure. An undercured laminate is compromised in its structural properties. The thixotropic character makes it the suitable solvent cement to use for both tight and wide applications. WDF-05 can be used for pipe diameters up to 160 mm and a maximum pressure of 16 bar (PN 16). Also known as chopped strand mat (CSM), it exists in a range of sizes, from 300 to 900 g/m2. The units are the weight per surface area, with the industry standard being written as ‘grams per square meter’.

Approximately 0.5 kg of topcoat should be applied to the laminated fibreglass (GRP) surface for each square metre. Catalyst is added and stirred to activate the topcoat. Add catalyst at a concentration of 1 – 4 %, depending on conditions. Mix enough topcoat for no more than 2 to 3 m2 to avoid wasting material. The topcoat can be painted or rolled on. Temperature: any work with resin should be done at warm temperatures ideally around 20ºC, as this ensures the resin will cure correctly. Resin will not cure adequately below 15°C and may require catalyst concentration adjustment. Temperatures above 30ºC may see curing that is too fast. With minimal shrinkage and easy sanding properties, the Glass Fibre Resin Repair Kit provides a professional finish that's ready to paint over. Plus, it's easy to use and apply, so you don't need to be a DIY expert to achieve great results.Set includes matting (approx. 16" x 24"), 242 g resin, 20 g hardener, 1x brush, 1x spreader, 1x disposable gloves Mix thoroughly using a clean instrument. Prepare up to 2 – 3 kg of topcoat depending on experience and requirements. Griffon WDF-05 Wet & Dry Fast Curing Cement has a slightly blue colour to give an easily recognised glued state of joints which is useful in large pipework installations, as it is sometimes easy to forget to glue a joint! Several tips and recommendations on the handling of catalyst are detailed below. Please be aware of these before application.

Solvent cement for joining PVC and ABS (flexible) tubes, coupling sleeves and fittings in Koi Ponds and Swimming Pool Pipework up to diameter 160 mm. Never use under 1% catalyst – even when hot – as the resin will not cure. Just use smaller quantities or wait until temperatures become more workable. Note: glass fibre matting should be prepared in advance of any resin application. As detailed later on in these instructions, catalysed resin has a short shelf life (15-30 minutes), so applicators will have a limited amount of time before the resin hardens. Avoid conditions when inclement weather is due including formation of frost or dew onto surfaces unlikely to have cured before that presence. Rendering onto plywood: When this was done on our loft conversion, the plasterer first stapled a sheet of Tyvek (synthetic roofing felt) over the ply. Then he stapled - securely - SS mesh over the surface, and rendered on to this (make sure you fit the mesh the right way up - one way will catch the render, the other way will allow it to slop off!).New en-suite bathroom fitted Feb/March 2022. All new construction into extension so all new pipes and fittings etc. Dust and grease: any impurities present on the surface – or in the surrounding atmosphere should be reduced as much as possible. Resin bonding and curing is greatly affected by impurities. This kit is perfect for both professionals and DIY enthusiasts looking for an all-in-one solution for their repair needs. So, whether you're fixing a dent in your car or repairing a damaged window frame, this Glass Fibre Resin Repair Kit has got you covered. Note : curing (hardening) of the resin begins as soon as the catalyst has been added. It is strongly recommended that you only prepare workable amounts of catalysed resin.

Note : be careful with painted surfaces. In general, polyesters are not comparable with single pot paint systems and adverse reactions are likely to occur. If it is to be attempted a small area should be aggressively sanded and a primer such as Primax or G4 applied followed by the polyester application and then assessed on its suitability over a few days. I really need to know what my options are? Can I go after them citing the Sales Of Goods Act? Or is there something else out there to help? At the end of the day, we have a faulty bath we can't use.Once the topcoat has been catalysed, work carefully and efficiently to apply it to the laminated surface. At this stage, no paddle roller is needed.
