About this deal

In this Emma Premium Microfibre Pillow review, I will talk about this latest release from the German maker that promises a bespoke sleeping experience. After seeing great success with their Emma Original pillow, they decided it was time to release a second one that follows a different approach. The Premium Microfibre pillow from Emma offers cloud-like sleep to help you drift off easily night after night. The layers of microfibre fillings in this pillow offer the perfect combination of comfort and support. What makes this pillow the ultimate bed accessory is its ability to adapt to how you sleep and how deep you want your pillow with its adjustable layers. Perfect for everyone no matter your sleeping position this pillow is the perfect addition to your bed.

For us, the Emma Premium Microfibre pillow is a touch of luxury. Something we would expect in a boutique hotel. It isn't a pillow we would usually go for because it is soft, but the fact that you can adjust the height – and that it's so wonderfully comfortable – went some way to convincing us. We loved how it plumps itself up, even whilst you're still resting your head on it. And its ability to keep a cool head during the night makes it a very comfortable sleep indeed. There's no mistaking that this is an Emma pillow – you'll see that a branded label on the cover and on each insert. It's coloured in the same dark blue as the piping around the edges of the pillow so it's all very on-brand, and looks crisp against the white pillow material. No more sleepless nights! From now on, with this fluffy Emma Premium Microfibre Pillow, you will feel like you are sleeping on a cloud. The best pillows you can buy in 2023 1. Silentnight Just Like Down Microfibre Pillow: Best value pillow Each of the inserts – and the padded cover – is stuffed with a microfibre polyester known as AeroSoft. This is a lovely fluffy and breathable material that minimises the amount of air that gets trapped inside the pillow, helping to keep you cool at night. We found that the pillow doesn't retain heat all that much, either, which made it really pleasant to return to if we had to get out of bed at some point during the night. Firmness and supportOne big plus point is that this entire pillow is machine washable at 60C – which is hot enough to effectively kill off dust mites. There's no filling to remove or cover to strip off, just pop the whole thing into the washing machine. You may benefit from removing the layers of the pillow to get the whole pillow into the drum, with room to move about and get properly clean. As they’re hypoallergenic, they’re great for allergy sufferers and also affordable, lightweight and easy to care for. They’re good if you sleep in a variety of positions throughout the night too. But they aren’t as malleable or breathable as other pillows and they have the shortest lifespan of all pillows – with the filling often prone to clumping. We slept on the Emma Premium Microfibre Pillow for about three weeks, using it every night as our main pillow. We tested it on key areas of performance including support, comfort and temperature regulation. It was alternated between two individuals who have a different body type, and who are both predominantly side sleepers. Here's how we got on... Setup

The cover and two inserts have been stuffed with filling to provide as much support as possible. If there's too much support, then you can remove one of the two inserts to adjust the feel so it's more to your liking. Although the idea of a height-adjustable pillow isn't a world-first, this is certainly one of the most straightforward designs. The Simba Hybrid pillow, for example, is filled with nano-cubes (little chunks of foam) which can be removed to adjust the height, which can get a bit messy. The cover of the Emma Premium Microfibre is made of an UltraDry fabric that is very breathable and has the ability to regulate the body’s heat. This material feels soft but it’s quite durable and it seems that it will last for years. It also has the ability to retain its shape which is important for an adjustable pillow like this one. The cover has a contemporary design and it features a clean white look. The cover is removable but if you want to clean it you don’t have to remove it. Instead, you can place the whole pillow inside the washing machine. For me, this is a great feature as I prefer to keep my pillows fresh and clean. Overall, the cover is nice so no complaints at all. SupportCombined feather and down pillows are good for comfort and support, eliminating pressure points and avoiding face squashing. But if you suffer from allergies, they’re a no-no. Despite the high-tech credentials, the Simba Hybrid feels surprisingly like a traditional pillow – much more so than some all-foam competitors. Unlike microfibre and feather pillows, which tend to be either soft or supportive but rarely both, the Simba Hybrid finds that sweet spot right out of the box. It’s worth noting, however, that unlike the Simba Hybrid mattress, there’s no trial period with its bedding products. It’s easy to assume this is irrelevant as you’ll have a pillowcase covering it. But it’s worth noting that natural cover fabrics such as cotton have much more breathability than polyester and other man-made fibres, which can make for a far more comfortable night’s sleep if you’re prone to getting hot at night. How we test pillows Individually removable layers - There are 4 layers within this pillow, 2 of which are removable. This allows you to personalise the pillow based on your sleeping position. Add and remove the inserts to create the best custom-made pillow, unique to your own liking, for every kind of sleepers and all sleeping positions. Our Emma Premium Microfibre Pillow can be exactly what you want it to be.

There’s a whole world of pillow fillings out there, so we’ve summarised the pros and cons of the various types below.

Machine Washable - The pillow and inner layers are all machine washable at 60 °C to help keep the sleeping surface clean and fresh. The only significant caveat is that to keep the pillow feeling its best, you’ll need to plump it up daily – something that’s not necessary with the foam pillows in this list. The clue is in the name as regards to the materials used in this pillow. The Emma Premium Microfibre pillow does, indeed, use microfibre materials in the filling and cover. Inside the pillow is Emma's AeroSoft filling which, as Emma says, is fluffy and breathable. This filling is siliconized micro elastic fibre, so 100% polyester, which doesn't feel wiry or clumpy and is evenly spread out amongst the layers of the pillow. The Emma Premium Microfibre Pillow is also one of the few pillows that can survive a machine wash, with no clumping. The cover does attract hair and fluff, however, so we advise to try brush that off as soon as it pops out of the machine.

After a few nights of testing and thinking about actually what it meant to have a temperature regulating pillow, our minds changed. We're not especially hot sleepers, but what we found is that although the rest of us was warm, our heads maintained a comfortable temperature with no over-heating (which is something that we can sometimes experience memory foam pillows). verifyErrors }}{{ message }}{{ /verifyErrors }}{{
