About this deal

I originally started reading the series via the library, but decided part way through that I wanted to own it. It is a great series that starts off a bit slow, but if you give it a little time it gets really good. I wish there were more books in the series, but it did have a pretty satisfactory ending.

I really really loved meeting Manon and Aelin who are probably tied for favorite characters in this series, if not ever. I just loved Abraxos and the wyverns and seeing how the Ironteeth witches worked, but still watching Celaena accept who she is and building a relationship with Rowan, and still getting to see what happens at the castle with Dorain and Chaol and Aedion. Fans new and old will dive into this special box set that contains a 4-color poster and hardcover editions of the entire series: The Assassin's Blade, Throne of Glass, Crown of Midnight, Heir of Fire, Queen of Shadows, Empire of Storms, Tower of Dawn, and the thrilling finale, Kingdom of Ash.

Cel’s boyfriends, whatever. I don’t care. Certainly no Queen Cersei or Future Queen Sansa to elevate the narrative in the kingdom’s capital. An elevated-extra fangirl has little worth here. There’s a new major character whose importance is unclear, a witch who rides a dragon (or a “wyvern” which in my mind is the same thing). Which really ought to be cool - I mean, witch + dragon. But it feels like a long training and game montage, with only occasional moments that feel necessary. Aedion Ashryver was kind of an asshole, but I did enjoy his character. You could definitely tell how much he cares for the ones he loves as well as his soldiers and he was smarter than people gave him credit for.

It looks like the white set is the UK version (exact same books just different covers) which is probably why they were harder to find. They do not have any illustrations of the characters in them tho. I do think that the original US versions may have. It does still have the maps in each book of course, and the set even comes with a 12"x18" poster of the Northern continent which I am totally going to frame! Three is that I've read most of SJM'S books, and I'll say this: SJM is utterly incapable of writing an unproblematic book. Once upon a time, in a land long since burned to ash, there lived a young princess who loved her kingdom …” My name is Celaena Sardothien. But it makes no difference if my name's Celaena or Lillian or Bitch, because I'd still beat you, no matter what you call me.” Once upon a time, in a land long since burned to ash, there lived a young princess who loved her kingdom …"Then Celaena and the King of Adarlan smiled at each other, and it was the most terrifying thing Dorian had ever seen.”
