Dosage: Adults (including elderly) and children aged 16 years and over: Cold & Flu: One sachet to be taken every four hours, if necessary, up to a maximum of six sachets in any 24 hours. Flu Plus: One sachet to be taken every four-six hours, as necessary, up to a maximum of four sachets in any 24 hours. Do not take continuously for more than 7 days without medical advice. Phenylephrine overdosage is likely to result in effects similar to those listed under adverse reactions. Additional symptoms may include hypertension and possibly reflux bradycardia. In severe cases confusion, hallucinations, seizures and arrhythmias may occur. However the amount required to produce serious phenylephrine toxicity would be greater than required to cause paracetamolrelated toxicity.

Guaifenesin is rapidly absorbed after oral administration. It is rapidly metabolised by oxidation to β-(2 methoxy-phenoxy)lactic acid, which is excreted in the urine.
