About this deal

My article titled, Oral-B cleaning modes explained, tells you in detail how each of these modes differ. It gives them the required amount of care and offers good oral hygiene The Oral-b Pro 2000 adapts to your tooth texture. After that, it rotates, oscillates, and pulsates over them to degenerate and get rid of plaque.

The ongoing cost of owning the brushes is the same as they are both Oral-B models and use the same brush heads. In my opinion, the 3000 series is probably the best value for money out of the Oral B ranges, if you simply want the most effective cleaning from an Oral B product. Sometimes, “higher” models can be found on offer at reduced prices, which of course is also attractive. If you want bells and whistles, then you can pay more for them, and if you are on a tighter budget, then of course the 2000 series and below should become a more attractive option. The Oral-B Pro 2 2500 Electric Toothbrush comes with the new upgraded lithium-ion rechargeable battery. The battery will last for around 56 minutes which is 2 weeks of cleaning twice a day for 2 minutes for 1 person. This is a massive improvement over the old model.

Built-in Timer

That said, there are a couple of reasons as to why it could be argued that the Smart 4 4000 can clean the teeth better. The Pro 2 2000 offers 9,900 oscillations and 45,000 pulsations compared to the 8,800 and 20,000 of the Pro 1000. The N at the end stands for Normal as it comes with the “standard” CrossAction Brush head. There is also a W variety which is Whitening and S which is Sensitive. The letter just represents the Brush Head that it comes with, the electric toothbrush handles are exactly the same. Should I go for the Oral-B Pro 2 2500 or Oral-B Pro 650 electric toothbrush? The 1000’s pressure sensor, will like the 2000’s reduce the number of brush head movements, until such time as the pressure is relieved. However, it is virtually impossible to know if the sensor has been activated on the 1000 as there is no light, or significant change in sound or brushing sensation. Protruding from the body, the power button is easy for the fingertip to detect. You do need to give it a fairly firm push, so those with dexterity issues might find it a bit more challenging.

The extra cleaning mode available on the 2000 will mean for some it cleans better as the slower movements will better suit those with tender teeth and gums that cannot handle the more powerful Daily Clean mode. Prices are always subject to change of course, but I do believe the Pro 2 is the better buy, even if the Pro 3 offers subtle benefits. This is because the cleaning effectiveness is governed by the speed of the oscillations and pulsations of the brush, and this speed is much higher in the Pro 4000 series than in the Pro 2000 models. Just to note, the maximum cleaning effectiveness for each model is achieved in the “Daily Clean” mode. A piece of gloss white plastic, it clips around the provided charging stand and essentially offers 2 prongs either side, onto which a single brush head can be placed. This toothbrush is supported by pressure sensors and pro timer. This feature makes sure you brush properly and as recommended by dentists. The Pro 2 2000 has a Li-Ion battery offering 14 days use compared to the 10 days of the NiMH of the Pro 1000.
