That said, neither team feels completely oppressive right now – a trio of results in relatively small fields does not a bogeyman make, and until we see more to suggest that Novitates are an issue, the Kill Team meta feels fairly healthy right now – though the caveat here is that they’re currently holding a 67% win percentage for April – more on that below. Specifically, Novitates, Void-Dancers, Voidscarred, Wrymblade, Warpcoven, Legionary, Pathfinder, and Veteran Guardsmen teams all seem pretty competitive, while Grey Knights and Talons of the Emperor teams seem to have some outside play. That’s a solid list, though Warpcoven have fallen pretty far from the spots they occupied at the start of the year.

This is really strong for your marksmen and if you can get a couple of Tau dudes up here, you’ll be sniping those Sisters with ease! Before they become fully fledged Battle Sisters, aspirants must prove their piety on the front lines. Known as Novitiates, they are usually deployed as kill teams with an experienced Sister Superior directing their youthful zealotry. Grenades have the Indirect rule, allowing you to target a Concealed enemy. The ASSAULT GRENADIER PATHFINDER is great for this, as they come with multiple grenades for free and can use them all twice. Pathfinder weapons with “ Pulse”in their name, such as Pulse Carbines, can be augmented by a Pulse Accelerator Drone, so look for that when outfitting your Kill Team. Saviour Protocols

Spec Ops

If you’re content with the two factions in Chalnath and just want to get playing, as I mentioned above GW do a couple of bundles to get you started, but once again they aren’t cheap. There’s the Rules Collection as well as the all-inclusive Essentials Collection. CAVE: Start off by assembling the drone body. Care to shorten the flight stand if necessary and continue the assembly as described on the other drones. Feel free to use a different antenna or add another one if you want to. There aren’t any optional extras with the Sisters – but, to be completely honest, they aren’t really needed. The vast amount of diversity and unique options across the kit makes it to attaching any extras may almost seem like overkill. That said, though, there are still lots of spares on the sprue once you’ve finished if you feel like getting a few extra parts on your figures or kitbashing some of the extras onto your other figures. Scenery I mean, when it’s all finished it’s a seriously impressive collection of scenery. This is the kind of stuff that’ll find a home on armies on parade boards across the world this time next year. But, and there is, unfortunately, a big but, it is a real pain to put together. Warhammer 40,000 Kill Team: Chalnath Review – Price and Availability Alright, it doesn’t come in the box, but we’ll never get tired of seeing the Krieg Sergeant take down a Kommando Nob in close combat . 10. Your Trusty Lasgun Has Unlimited Range

The arms are relatively easy to glue on, since they don’t have to connect which each other and also, if you glued down the torso in the right angle, give you some space to play with. There are also plenty of heads and limbs and other bits and pieces left over at the end to kitbash with or decorate the bases of your T’au-killing armies.

Give units from your Crusade campaign a story all of their own by taking them on Kill Team missions to enhance your narrative play experience. 6. Regular Updates The majority of the plastic – 8 sprues, to be exact – is for terrain, and there are a couple of duplicates in there. Three of the sprues are in there twice, and two of the scenery sprues are unique. The other 4 are for your Novitiates and Pathfinders two apiece. The Take Cover Strategic Ploy and Kauyon Art of War are indispensable when you’ve got to dig in and out-shoot your opponent, and a well-placed MEDICAL TECHNICIAN PATHFINDER can keep key operatives alive. Emp Grenade [2ep] – a frag grenade with lethal X, where X is the save of the targeted models. Since you generally take the grenadier you won’t often pay for this. Generally I’d use this on saves of 4+ or better and skip it against worse saves. Operatives with the Markerlight ability can use one Action Point to place a Markerlight on an enemy target. For each Markerlight a target has placed upon it, any Pathfinder operative gains a series of bonuses to shooting actions against that target. Markerlights are excellent for focusing fire on key targets that are difficult to take down, and using them is key to success with a Pathfinder Kill Team. Art of War

T’au military strategy focuses around two main doctrines – Mont’ka, the Killing Blow, and Kauyon, the Patient Hunter – and the Shas’ui Pathfinder can use his Art of War ability to call on one of these for a powerful turn-long bonus. There’s only one book in Kill Team: Chalnath, so we’ll spend a little time going over that now. We’ll keep it brief and not too in-depth, though, so we won’t spoil too much of what waits inside should any of you be eager readers. Kill Team: Chalnath War ManualPathfinder Drone operatives offer powerful bonuses to their Kill Team, but it comes with a few disadvantages: They can’t perform mission actions, they’re worse at controlling objectives, they don’t benefit from cover as well as other operatives, and they mostly can’t wear equipment. They also measure line of sight differently, since they have a near-360 degree field of vision from their discs rather than eyes. Pulse Weapons Pathfinders are very capable in a gunfight thanks to their high-damage weapons and markerlights. However, with just 7 Wounds and a 5+ save, they are more fragile than average, so use cover when trading fire to keep the gunfights in your favour. x Citadel Miniatures comprising of two complete kill teams comprised of an Adepta Sororitas Novitiate Squad and a T’au Pathfinder Squad. These are broken down as: In terms of changing things I already have access to 8 warriors (1 with pulse rifle, 1 with pulse carbine, 6 with pulse blasters) and 1 drones (1 marker drone and 1 gun drone), so it is possible to change things (we play as friends so some dudes could be proxied or I simply try to get the wrong equipment of the guys I have and glue new things to them). Take that for what you will. That’s not strictly what we’re here to look at today, so let’s move on to the good stuff. Warhammer 40,000 Kill Team: Chalnath Review – Unboxing
