Viridiana, a young nun about to take her final vows, pays a visit to her widowed uncle at the request of her Mother Superior. While she's probably not taken any oaths, the papal agent in the French film Brotherhood of the Wolf masquerades as a prostitute. A drama that explores the life of Mother Teresa (Juliet Stevenson) through letters she wrote to her longtime friend and spiritual advisor, Father Celeste van Exem (Max von Sydow) over a nearly fifty-year period. Alice Elliott of Shadow Hearts fame sort of qualifies. She's not evil or even particularly promiscuous, but whenever she's onscreen it's a panty shot moment (you'd think a pious, God-fearing sweet-and-innocent girl like her would show a bit less leg. Plus, she likes to hit enemies with her Bibles.

See full summary» The Devils is a 1971 British historical drama directed by Ken Russell and starring Oliver Reed and Vanessa Redgrave. It is based partially on the 1952 book The Devils of Loudun by Aldous Huxley, and partially on the 1960 play The Devils by John Whiting, also based on Huxley's book. The film is a dramatised historical account of the rise and fall of Urbain Grandier, a 17th century French priest executed for witchcraft following the supposed possessions of Loudun. The premise of most Nunsploitation movies revolves around a young woman who has done something to offend male figures of authority and is forcibly sequestered in a convent for her supposed moral protection. Once inside the girl often encounters a tyrannical Mother Superior whose own supressed sexual desires find expression in sadistic punishments meted out to disobedient novices; other young nuns who, when they are unable to smuggle lovers into their chambers under the cover of night, indulge in lesbian liaisons and the exchange of homemade pornography; and a visiting priest whose presence often inspires the nuns to further frottage and frenzy. The common explanation given for nuns' licentious behaviour is of course demonic possession and this usually necessitates some form of communal exorcism. Most nuns in A Certain Magical Index wear relatively reasonable habits, considering the ridiculousness of what they actually do, but one, Sister Agnese, upon her return is wearing a habit that is more holey ◊ than holy. That one is explained in the novels as being a punishment: that a nun would be forced to wear something like that is supposed to shame them. Although Agnese wonders if Bishop Biagio doesn't have other reasons for putting her in it... After the death of her parents, a young girl arrives at a convent and brings a sinister presence with her.
