It's obvious that the claims of both of these self-possessed adults had negative effects on their only child, Mary, who grew to become an ill, anxious, tormented young woman preoccupied with the health of her soul and conscience. Eventually, Katherine marries his brother, Henry; and it's here where things take a tragic turn, and this Queen's downfall slowly ends.
