About this deal

Ravenswood #3. A small-town romance between a 40-year-old divorced novelist and a younger, demisexual bad boy. They share a real friendship and a fake relationship. Until it’s not fake at all. Premise in a sentence:Eve, who has just left her job as a wedding planner after a disastrous event with some doves, tries to prove to her parents that she can hold down a job, and ends up at a bed and breakfast working in the kitchen with grumpy, yet sexy, Jacob. I thought the first book in this series was good. I thought the second was not. This was something else altogether.

This book features friends accidentally falling in love, lots of bonding over delicious food, and one outrageous hashtag (#DrRugbae). Both of these characters also carry baggage, but the story doesn't feel heavy. Talia Hibbert has a way of inserting just the right amount of humor into her stories, and I was reading this book with such a big smile on my face. The dialogue and banter between the two MCs were such a joy to read. I'm a dialogue junkie, and I love it when the author can carry a story through with witty conversation. Though the book touched on a number of serious topics, it didn't take itself too seriously. Jacob Wayne is in control. Always. The bed and breakfast owner’s on a mission to dominate the hospitality industry and he expects nothing less than perfection. So when a purple-haired tornado of a woman turns up out of the blue to interview for his open chef position, he tells her thebrutal truth: not a chance in hell. Then she hits him with her car— supposedlyby accident. Yeah, right. Standalone, full-length novel, previously titled Wanna Bet?. An emotional friends-to-lovers romance between a pansexual party girl and the uptight, responsible hero who’s spent his life pining for her. They are roommates now. Shenanigans ensue. Jacob Wayne is in control. Always. The bed and breakfast owner’s on a mission to dominate the hospitality industry—and he expects nothing less than perfection. So when a purple-haired tornado of a woman turns up out of the blue to interview for his open chef position, he tells her the brutal truth: not a chance in hell. Then she hits him with her car— supposedly by accident. Yeah, right.

Eve is clear about who she is, and also knows how she falls short in certain areas. She wants nothing more than to stop being a source of embarrassment to her family.Talia Hibberts writing style is fun and easy to get into. While it may not have been exactly my sense of humor, it was still lighthearted and entertaining. Also, the spice level in this book? Amazing.

Look,” he said, the word a rasp. “There are many ways to fail—” “Trust me, I’m aware.” “And very few of them are actually controllable. Life has too many moving parts.” He managed to sound resentful of the very nature of human existence, which Eve found impressive despite herself. “So when it comes to this job, and failing, or succeeding, there’s really only one thing you can promise me. And,” he added sharply, “you will promise.” “What?” His response couldn’t be more surprising if he’d delivered it while butt naked and standing on his head. “Try for me, Eve. That’s all. Just try.” Of course, everyone has heard of Audible. But depending on how many audiobooks you listen to in a month, another audiobook service might be much better specialized for what you need. Then she hits him with her car— supposedly by accident. Yeah, right. I loved the brash kind protagonist. I loved the shy rough around the edges sweet love interest. I loved the fun dialogue, I loved (for once in my life!) the steamy scenes, I loved the complicated loving family, and I loved watching these two miscommunicate and yell and fall in love.

Part 4: Fantastic Chapters from Act Your Age, Eve Brown

Standalone, novella. Vaguely connected to The Roommate Risk, but, like, vaguely. A bodyguard romance between a radical political activist and the over-protective mechanic also known as her brother’s best friend. They eat a lot and shout at each other and then they kiss. I was so enjoying this story that I was surprised when I had tears in my eyes near the end: the emotions really crept up on me. I felt my heart squeezing and squeezing, and I couldn't put it down in the last 20%. Jacob’s lips quirked without permission. “You’ve been here quite a while Sunshine, and there’s no police sniffing around, so I imagine you hid it just fine yourself.”

If you tell me there’s a book about two autistic people finding love and happiness, I’m going to read it, and Eve Brown did not disappoint! As a general rule, me and romance novels don’t get along (a mix of the predictable formula and my hatred of people who aren’t me finding love and happiness) as per the rating, but I still enjoyed it nonetheless. Talia Hibbert has created three sisters that exemplify strength, a strong sense of womanhood and self confidence. I think any woman reading this series can take something positive away from any of these sisters. Eve Brown is a certified hot mess. No matter how hard she strives to do right, her life always goes horribly wrong—so she’s given up trying. But when her personal brand of chaos ruins an expensive wedding ( someone had to liberate those poor doves), her parents draw the line. It’s time for Eve to grow up and prove herself—even though she’s not entirely sure how…Although I really enjoyed this final book, there were a couple of things which niggled me! Chloe and Dani disappointed me slightly, when they were interfering and judgmental, and when her family came with all that drama, it made me frown! I would've also preferred if the romance took place over a longer period of time, as it just felt to much, too soon for me personally. Also, wet glitter.. I had been warned about that scene, but I'm pretty sure that no one's vagina should dissolve into a pile of wet glitter... The Woman In Me by Britney Spears, the memoir of the “Princess of Pop”, is out. And it gutted me… Let me first give you my thoughts on this book, before we go into the narration of the The Woman In Me audiobook which is not read by the singer herself. The Woman In Me …
