Its distinctive motor oil-inspired can design pays homage to founder Paolo Dalla Mora's fervent passion for engines, reminiscent of the peak motocross era in the 1980s. I particularly think it works well in a somewhat herbal Negroni though it will be at home in a Last Word or 1:1 Martini. While not a fan of political correctness, I find it a bit questionable to tie a new brand’s image to a Confederate flag. Taste: Slightly oily entry with sage citrus and cardamom taste backed by elderflower, rendering it a touch sweet if a bit fiery. It is a challenging mixer that requires attention to its flavor profile and expectation management with consumers acclimated to other gins.I find that some of its more difficult qualities are emphasized in cocktails like the gin and tonic and the gin and soda.

Its formula is linked with Italian and Piedmont tradition, paying tribute in its composition to those rosolios (sweet liqueurs), cordials and liqueurs made from sage and lemon which in the past were ancient digestive remedies. White and blue (upper third white, bottom ⅔ deep blue with a rectangular red label with white lettering “Engine”“Fuel The Dream” in white letters Organic Gin and a shield medallion with and engine graphic and a lightning bolt S on the graphic.NID cookie, set by Google, is used for advertising purposes; to limit the number of times the user sees an ad, to mute unwanted ads, and to measure the effectiveness of ads. It is produced with completely organic ingredients, from a controlled Italian supply chain: alcohol from wheat, juniper from Tuscany, sage from Piedmont and Liguria, lemon from Sicily and Amalfi coast, liquorice roots from Calabria, damask rose and water from the Alps. The unique motor oil can design is inspired by founder Paolo Dalla Mora and his passion for engines, such as the height of motocross in the 1980’s.

This gin's formula intricately weaves together Italian and Piedmontese traditions, offering a heartfelt nod to historical digestive remedies like sage and lemon-based rosolios, cordials, and liqueurs. However, it works well in the right applications– if you’re willing to give it some time and space to shine, it can. I am even less sure of the reasoning behind some of their decisions regards to packaging and marketing, to be honest…and to some degree, they are of course interrelated. It starts on a green, vegetal note that warms to fatty olive at the center, followed by dried lemon peel, savory rosemary, and black pepper at the finish. While a fun and novel concept from a packaging standpoint, the gin is likely to be a touch divisive from a flavor perspective.

Produced with an array of botanicals from Italy, including lemon, liquorice, damask rose, and essential oils, the result is a delightfully delicate expression with thankfully no petrol notes to be found. Some of the data that are collected include the number of visitors, their source, and the pages they visit anonymously. The new gin, which comes to us from Disaronno, is distilled in the Italian auto manufacturing hub of Langhe, hence the unorthodox packaging and design. In the right drinks, it works well but it is an odd one that will require some experimentation to make it really shine for you. Engine is an exceptional organic gin crafted in limited batches through the innovative process of vacuum distillation, using a meticulous selection of 100% Italian botanicals.

Engine Gin stands as a modern testament to these ancient practices, skillfully combining its unique vacuum distillation technique with a reverent embrace of its cultural roots, ultimately yielding a remarkable and captivating gin experience. It is a bit misaligned with American gin flavor palates, in terms of the bitter, overwhelming herbal flavors. Not unlike a bowl of warmed olives with bits of lemon peel and herbs that you might be served at an Italian bar as an aperitivi snack.
