NECA has just released new information and images for the new Jaws Shark Cage Matt Hooper 8″ action figure.

The Friday the 13th Ultimate Jason Voorhees 7-Inch Scale Action Figure features two interchangeable heads (one has a removable mask) and an extra-articulated Ultimate body, plus loads of accessories: machete, axe, fire poker, hammer, and screwdriver. With the image they posted today they included the following text, "It's "Shark Awareness Day" and we think you're gonna need a bigger boat. Sadly, NECA will never be able to complete the trio of Jaws shark hunters and add Quint and Hooper’s cohort Chief of Police Martin Brody into the mix. Based on the shark cage scenes, this action figure of the young oceanographer stands 8 tall and is equipped with screen-accurate accessories (flippers, spear, underwater light, knife, and oxygen tank) as well as swappable heads.Jaws is considered one of the greatest achievements in film, paving the way for what would become the summer blockbuster.

Here in the US this figure will be released as a Walmart exclusive and it looks like its now slated for a June(ish) release. Going by first glance, that almost bow-legged stance isn't screen accurate, which may also be irksome to a few. NECA Toys are already set to deliver the most screen accurate Quint early this year and it was also confirmed that we'll have a - to scale - great white shark to match. NECA also released an 8″ tall, clothed action figure based on the Quint character, featuring the licensed likeness of actor Robert Shaw.NECA is excited to announce a new 8" clothed figure featuring the licensed likeness of Richard Dreyfuss as Matt Hooper from the 1975 classic.

As you can see from the release notes above, the figure is estimated to release sometime in September. Later this year, NECA will be releasing incredible action figures of Brody and Quint from Steven Spielberg’s Jaws, and an in-scale figure of the shark is also swimming our way.

This deluxe 7-inch scale action figure features over 25 points of articulation and comes with 4 unique, interchangeable heads to represent different dreams (bloody mask, resurrection mask, grave mask and a special mask based on the one-sheet poster). We are still getting Quint, and we know that the Great White Shark is on its way, wouldn't it be rude for us not to have an in-scale Orca to go with it. Clearly NECA need to get some images of the actual Richard Dreyfuss playing with his NECA self, just so we can all mutter that classic Jaws line, stop playing with yourself, Hooper. Based on his appearance in the thrilling new Halloween movie, this all new Michael stands over 7″ tall and has received the Ultimate treatment, with over 25 points of articulation and tons of accessories.
