About this deal

I have been recommended this book about 20 times by the same person and now I have read it I know why. For instance, Hardy has increased the size of his weekly investment several times since he started, mirroring the growth of his future self’s financial goals. In this highly practical book, Dr Hardy shows that when you look at your life through the lens of your Future Self you will learn how to create the incredible, beautiful life you want. For instance, the writing in his latest book is a vast improvement on the writing in his first book. Hardy's insights are not just theoretical but are deeply rooted in actionable steps that anyone can incorporate into their lives.

You have everything you need to create your desired life and all of the answers you need lie within you. It will likely involve delegating certain activities to others or through certain software or programs.I understand his point most clearly from his paraphrase of a Seinfeld routine about staying up late: night guy doesn’t mind getting drunk and staying up until 4 a. In the book, author Benjamin Hardy argues that everything we do is driven by our view of the future, whether it’s one we’re trying to avoid or one we’re trying to create.

Dodge common pitfalls by being aware of the threats to your future self – such as past narratives and fear of failure. I’m fine making mistakes because the mistakes I make now are much more important than the mistakes I made a few years ago. Or at least, I’m not sad not to be any of my past selves—even the very happiest ones—because I’ve learned so much and grown so much since then. Your contextual purpose is the most important thing you can focus on right now to bring about the overarching purpose. We opt for the urgent, instead of the important, and then down the road, we find ourselves still stuck in the same place. Aside from the basic mormonesque lifestyle, (both in observance and materialism) Chasidim (very often) come from a place of privilege while at the same time lacking some basic core thought processess that this book gives coherence to. I wonder what Frankl would think of Hardy's use of his work to support Hardy's material views of success. I guess because I’ve read a lot of the source works this book was based on, it just feels like the same old stuff I’ve already heard a million times before. It takes the latest in the science of Future Self, positive psychology and neuroscience and meshes it all into an easy to follow guide on transforming our lives.
