Also, in terms of the sense of range characteristic of the high-end, the EA500 remains at a relatively mediocre level. There is a sense that the sound is too lean in the midrange.

SIMGOT EA500 Review — Headfonics

I will compare the D-Fi against other budget DD types that are tunable. Planars, hybrids, and pure BA IEMs are omitted, as the different transducers have their own pros and cons. The comparisons below are made with the D-Fi on the least bassy position. Vs. Simgot EA500 Frequency response graph of the Simgot EA500 via an IEC711-compliant coupler. 8kHz is a coupler artifact peak.Since this unit tour was organised by the kindly people at Linsoul, I am grateful to them. And as I've said in all of my evaluations, the same is true for this one: all of the concepts I've expressed below are entirely my own, original ideas that haven't been influenced by anyone else. If interested, go to this link. Sources: E1DA SG3, Shanling UP5, Geshelli JNOG J2 with AKM4493 chip. Truthear SHIO (Dual Cirrus Logic 43198 DAC Chips) On the IE200 the stage is more L+R , more intimate yet the stage sounds closer to you and more like a studio recording rather than live. Whereas the EA500 changes its stage per song and is more true to the recording. The chassis is fashioned from metal, with a mirror-like, hand-polished alloy faceplate. I’ve no complaints on the build front; these IEMs are very solidly made. The tuning switch board is found on the sides of the shells. The difference in nozzles affects almost exclusively the high frequencies, so the effect on the midrange alone is not significant, but the red nozzles tend to make the midrange sound image sound slightly larger and more balanced.

Review: Simgot Audio EA500 – Signature of Dynamism

The tuning nozzles can be swapped to enhance upper-midrange and lower-treble presence, but the lower-mids remain recessed in both configurations. Tuning nozzles Not to be confused with the original Olina, which were derided for being too shouty and fatiguing, the Olina SE sport a tamer upper midrange/lower treble, though with some loss of resolution and soundstage compared to the original. The SIMGOT EA500 comes with a standard and very small cardboard box. Inside, you get some molds to hold the IEMs in place, paperwork, a set of ear tip replacements, and extra nozzles. The mid-bass is quite agile, though texturing is average, with some mid-bass bleed present. Midrange Tests were done with a Khadas Toneboard DAC -> Schiit Asgard 3 amp, Creative Sound Blaster X5, E1DA 9038, Questyle M15, Colorfly CDA M1, Truthear SHIO, Apple dongle, smartphone, Hiby R3 Pro Saber 2022 DAP, Shanling M0 Pro DAP, and Sony NW A-55 DAP (Walkman One mod) using FLAC and WAV files. My source gear is correspondigly selected to grant very extended bandwidth, high reconstruction proweness, uncolored amping. I just got off a slew of other portables that came with great cables for such a low price and now this EA500 is added into the mix. What a fantastic little cable! The cable material looks high-end and I enjoy the braided appeal that terminates into a standard 3.5mm adapter. Although, the emphasis does brought some positives in some respect which I personally think the EA500 does benefit from it. This also came with a cost, whereby the added upper-bass to midrange causes the mids sounded slightly hazy and muddy. Both nozzles does not seem to be able to reduce this effect as the red nozzle only seemed to make it a tad less muddy and controlled yet the haziness still persist. Moreover, the upper midrange region could get a tad shouty and intense occasionally, even though it was not severe but it is certainly something that users would notice. Hi @ToneDeafMonk, I had a look at your squig.link, and I noticed you score EA500 8.5/10 and Ikko OH10 at 10/10. The EA500 have a slightly thinner note weight and sound more metallic in timbre. The EA500 have more air and sparkle, with a greater treble extension on both tuning nozzles.

SIMGOT EA500 : r/headphones - Reddit My Take On The SIMGOT EA500 : r/headphones - Reddit

The tuning switches on the Star River do not hold water! Caveat emptor! Two of the tuning switches are switcheroos! The nozzles with the red ring offer more bass and are aimed at the H-2016 target response from the low end and up through the upper mids.

Sound Impressions

Simgot is not the most well-known of Chinese brands, but they have had their fair share of notoriety with some decent to good iems since their genesis. Sets like the Simgot EN700 Pro (among others) reached some pretty notorious acclaim but it’s the newer sets which have gotten the hobbyists reeling nowadays. Starting off with the lower budget tier with the set I’m reviewing today, the EA500, and going up in price to the EN1000 and the EA2000. We have seen quite a bit of solid substantiated buzz and truthfully for anyone that has had their finger on the pulse of the hobby of late, I’m not telling you anything you don’t know. The point is, Simgot is on to something special with ridiculously good build quality, designs and most importantly the sound quality within their latest line of iems. Brouhaha? I am new to IEMs, and recently got a bunch of cheap ones, including the EA500, which I like very much, but I am always on the lookout for something better (having a dissatisfied soul).

Apple Music/Spotify + Local files via HiBy Music > Letshuoer DT02 dongle DAC/AMP (1 Vrms@32 Ohms (SE) and 2 Vrms@300 Ohms (Bal). For sure that its tonality doesn't reach the quality level of some mid-rangers and TOTL single DD sets but its technical aspect gives you an idea and probably a prelude towards the best possible technical performance that most mid-rangers and high-end single dynamic driver sets can only achieve.Customers have to bear any form of custom/import/processing fees that are applicable for your parcel.
